Tissue Microarray Mold Kits
array up to 170 sample cores in one paraffin block
Tissue Microarrays are paraffin blocks made by extracting cylindrical tissue cores from different paraffin donor blocks and re-embedding these into a single recipient microarray block at defined array coordinates.
Using this technique, up to 170 tissue samples can be arrayed into a single paraffin block. Cores sizes vary from 1mm to 4mm.
Each microarray block can be cut into 100 to 500 sections.
These sections can then be stained by standard histologic procedures or used in immunochemistry and in situ hybridization.
Applications
- Cancer/tumor research
- Drug discovery
- Tissue bank
- Characterization of antibiotics
- Tissue specific expression profiling of proteins and genes
- Analysis of molecular targets
Features & Benefits
- Seven patterns available offering 15 to 170 cores
- Molds made of silicone for mulitple use without losing flexibility
- Molds able to withstand temperatures between -100° C to +250° C
- View many different samples on one slide
Using the Tissue Microarray Molds

1. Place cassetteinto mold

2. Fill with paraffin

3. Remove mold to expose recipient block

4. Finished recipient block

5. Trim excess paraffin

2. 45° angled corner for block orientation

3. Donor cores inserted into pre-cast block

4. Microarray sections on slide
Tissue Microarray
Pre-cast Paraffin Blocks
prepare tissue arrays without the use of specialized equipment

The Precast Tissue Microarray Paraffin Blocks allow you to prepare tissue arrays without needing any specialized equipment.
You can construct a tissue array block in minutes, simply by punching the donor tissue cores and inserting them into the pre-made paraffin recipient block.
Features & Benefits
- No specific technical training or experience needed
- Quick and inexpensive
- Choice of seven paraffin blocks holding 15 to 170 specimens
- Ready to accept cores from donor block
- Consistent core diameter
- Cassette is permanently bonded to block
- Donor block is made using Paraplast X-TRA™
Using the Pre-cast Tissue Microarray Blocks

1. Ready to accept cores from donor block

2. 45° angled corner for block orientation

3. Donor cores inserted into pre-cast block

4. Microarray sections on slide
