BioGram 4 kit
FOUR-REAGENT KIT FOR IDENTIFICATION OF BACTERIA ACC. TO GRAM
BioGram 4 kit has properties that enable optimal staining of bacterial strains and provides balanced results.
Differentiation staining of bacterial strains acc. to Gram is widely known and used microbiology method.
It is one of the most commonly used diagnostic methods in hospital and clinical laboratories, for differentiation between Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Gram-positive bacteria have thicker cell membrane. By treating it with iodine solution (i.e. forming insoluble iodine-primary stain complex), the membrane retains the dye inside the cell. Gram-negative bacteria have thinner membrane that cannot retain the dye (due to membrane structure), and it is washed through the membrane.
